MRS. F. D. THOMPSON

Mrs. F. D. Thompson, following lingering health decline, died in her home in Los Angles, September 22, 1920. Her maiden name was Abby N. Price. She was Iowa born and became a pioneer resident of Nevada in 1857. In 1862 on Thanksgiving Day, she was married to F. D. Thompson, a promising young man of Nevada. From that date until their removal to Los Angeles in 1916, their home was in Nevada. The removal to California was primarily, we understand, for the benefit of Mrs. Thompson's health, but Mr. Thompson was the first to pass on into the loving mysteries beyond which event occurred in December 1917. The active years of their life were spent in Nevada, in which community from start to finish, they ranked with the best and most useful citizens. Here they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, Thanksgiving Day, 1912, esteemed and honored by our entire citizenship. Mrs. Thompson was a woman of excellent ability and kindly spirit. She was one of the early teachers of the county and among the districts in which she taught was that of the first schools of the city. The photo of the school building in which she taught in Nevada hangs on the walls of our public library. Mrs. Thompson was an all around good woman, a good mother and woman who was always willing to do her part to promote the welfare of the local community and to make the world a better world in which to abide. She will be long and gratefully remembered by a multitude of friends. The children who survive to mourn her loss and to tenderly cherish her memory are F. L. Thompson, Los Angeles, Kate E. of the same city, Mrs. Cora Boydston of Lake Worth, Fla., Mrs. George Klove and Mrs. Fred Dunahugh of this city, and Clayton Thompson of Des Moines.

The sepulture of both Mr. and Mrs. Thompson is in Hollywood cemetery in California.
