Mrs. Nelson Died at Sioux City Saturday

Special to the Journal.
Cambridge, Dec. 22--Mrs. J. S. Nelson, aged 79, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Anderson, in Sioux City Saturday Mrs. Nelson, an invalid for thirty years or more the last five utterly helpless, has spent the greater part of her life in and around Cambridge. Through all her long years a patient and cheerful sufferer. As Miss Sarah Thompson of Lee county, Ill., she was married to J. S. Nelson, fifty-eight year ago, came to this vicinity and has had a continued residence since. Eight children were born to them two of whom Mrs. Carl Anderson and Mrs. George Ingledue of Sioux City and her husband survive her. About a year ago the failing health of Mrs. Nelson coupled with the exhaustive care given the wife it became necessary to remove her to Sioux City where her daughters might better minister to her. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at one o'clock at the Lutheran church in Cambridge. Her pastor, Rev. Buland, in charge.

Interment was in the family lot the Palestine cemetery.*

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Her death record states Sarah Thompson/Thomson, daughter of Eric Thomson and Bertha Larson, was born 12 July, 1852 in Norway and died 19 December 1931 in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa. She was married to Joseph S. Nelson. The death record states she was buried in Cambridge, Story County, Iowa.
