DEATHS

Funeral services for Olive Malmin* were held at the Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg Friday, February 1968 with Rev. Perry Heller as officiating minster. Clifford Christiansen sang "Near to the Heart of God" and "The Lord's Prayer." Organist was Mrs. Jack Roberts.

Burial was in the Warren Township Cemetery near McCallsburg. Pallbearers were Paul Egenes, Donald Flo, Leon Flo, Vern Gard, Raumond Mork and Obed Olson.

Olive Malmin* was born May 28, 1886 and died Wednesday, January 31, 1968 at the Iowa Lutheran Home, Madrid at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 3 days.

The daughter of Anna Marie and Lorentz Almlie, she was born in Seeley Township, Fairbault County, Minnesota. She and her family soon moved to near Bricelyn, Minnesota.

She was confirmed in the Bethany Lutheran Church near Bricelyn by the Rev. O. P. Swingen.

She attended Jewell college and in 1915 she was united in marriage to Gerhard M. Malmin of McCallsburg. To this union five children were born, two of whom died in infancy.

The family lived on a farm west of McCallsburg until 1929 when they moved to town. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran church.

Survivors include one son, Marvin of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Marion) Skartvedt of Ellsworth; Mrs. Olger (Carmelia) Lenning of Story City; one grandson, Lawrence Malmin of Des Moines; two brothers, Oscar of Bricelyn, Minn. and the Rev. Selmer L. Almlie of Lisbon, North Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerhard in 1955, by two infant children, by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.

In September 1960 Mrs. Malmin moved to the Iowa Lutheran Home, Madrid where she made her home until her death.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The name of the deceased was Oline Malmin, not Olive Malmin as stated.
