Services for Charles N. Holvek were held February 7, 1968 in the Brouhard Funeral home, Rev. Richard L. Miller officiated with burial in the Zearing cemetery. Casket Bearers were Robert Herr, Aason Buffington, Lowell Hoberland, L. J. Holveck, Kenneth Holveck and Dayles Risse.
Charles N. Holveck, the son of Louis J. and Laura (Robinson) Holveck, was born December 1, 1889 near Zearing, in Sherman Township and died February 4, 1968 at the Bryant Nursing home in State Center, Iowa at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 3 days.
On October 4, 1911 he was married to Ilo Hoberland and their entire life was spent in the Zearing community, where he was a merchant, running a meat market and grocery and a Cafe for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ilo in 1932, his parents, one sister and four brothers. He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Hugh Holm (Opal) of Great Falls, Montana, Mrs. David Tillotson of Ankeny, Ia.; one son, Forrest, of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; 7 grandchildren; Donald Holm, Ponca City, Okla., Kendall Holm, Denver, Colo., Gretchen Kause, Postville, Ia., Charlotte Cozine, Iowa City, Carolyn, Michael and Randy Holveck, Cedar Rapids; 1 sister Margaret Gaunt, Turlock, Calif. and one brother David Holveck of Marshalltown, Iowa.
