FORMER COLLINS MAN DIED FRIDAY

JOHN M. HEATH PASSED AWAY FOLLOWING A PARALYTIC STROKE

Special to the Journal.
Collins, Aug. 8--Word reached here today of the death Friday at a hospital in Bethley, Oklahoma, of John M. Heath, former well-known resident of the Collins neighborhood. Death was due to a stroke of paralysis. Funeral services will be held at Bethley, Sunday and interment will be there.

John M. Heath was born in Marion county, Indiana, in 1868, a son of Robert and Rachel Heath. He came west with his parents when a lad of 13 years and they settled on what has since been known as the Heath homestead, 4 miles east of Collins.

Engaged in farming for a time, Mr. Heath took charge of a medicine route which he operated for a time and eventually became auditor of the company.

Later he moved to Oklahoma, and about 21 years ago he moved to Meridan, Okla., where he engaged in the banking business.

He leaves his wife, two sons, one daughter and a sister, the latter being Belle Fowler of Adel, Iowa.
