Former Story County Woman Died

Mrs. Mary E. Coyne, 71, former Story county woman, died at her home 406 South Second street, Marshalltown, Wednesday morning and the funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:00, at St. Mary's Catholic church there, after which interment will be in Riverside cemetery. Mrs. Coyne had been in ill health for two years.

Mrs. Coyne was born Mary E. Dougherty, Aug. 11, 1860, in Castle Ray, County Roscommon, Ireland. When a girl of 8 years she came to America with her parent, who first settled in Ohio, later moving to Illinois. In the latter state the family lived in several towns. Later the parents moved to Nevada where they lived for a time.

Mr. and Mrs. Coyne came to Iowa, settling in Story county, where they made their home for some time. They lived in several Iowa towns before locating in Marshalltown, May 1, 1894.

Mr. and Mrs. Coyne were the parents of five children, three of whom are living. They are Thomas P. Coyne, Mrs. Ernest Pohle and Mrs. James Gowdy, all of Marshalltown. Besides her husband and children Mrs. Coyne is survived by two brothers, M. J. Dougherty, Ames, and B. C. Dougherty, Chicago; fifteen grandchildre and one great grandchild.
