WM. HAND DIED SUNDAY NIGHT

LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF COUNTY PASSED AWAY AFTER STROKE

Special to the Journal.
Colo, March 16--William Hand, 66, longtime farmer near here, died at his home Sunday night, six miles southeast of Colo, from the effects of a paralytic stroke.

He suffered from the first stroke about two years ago and the third and fatal one on Wednesday of last week.

Funeral arrangements have not been fully determined at this time.

Interment will probably be under the ritualistic ceremonies of the Masonic order, of which Mr. Hand was a member. He belonged to both the Masonic and Eastern Star orders at Collins.

Mr. Hand was a native of the Maxwell neighborhood where he was born December 2, 1864. Raised in that community, he was married 34 years ago to Miss Rose Thompson of the Rhodes neighborhood and their home has been in this part of the county since.

Besides his wife, he leaves six children. They are Faye and Arthur Hand of Collins, Alva Hand at home, Mrs. Mabel Pritchard and Mrs. Marie Dodd of Collins and Mrs. Opal Grogg of Detroit. All of the children were at home when he died with the exception of the daughter Opal. There are two children dead.

Besides his wife and six children he leaves three sisters, all located in the state of Washington. They are Mrs. Ida Welty, Mrs. Lillie Trouty [should be Prouty] and Mrs. Minnie Hull.
