Hans Larsen Dead; Funeral Services at Lutheran Church

Hans Larsen, 61, died at Iowa sanitarium Wednesday afternoon after an illness of but a few hours. He was taken ill Tuesday evening while at the Lee Bates farm south of Nevada, where he had been employed and was hastened to Iowa sanitarium where he submitted to a major surgical operation, but passed away Wednesday at 1:45 p. m.

Mr. Larsen, when not employed on farms had for past sometime hade his home with his sister Mrs. Chris Paulsen at 711 Tenth street.

He was born in Denmark, November 27, 1876, son of Chris Larsen. It was there that his mother died and he came to America with his father Chris Larsen and his step-mother Christina Larsen, when a lad of five years. They located here and both parents have since passed away.

He is survived by his sisters Mrs. Chris Paulson of Nevada and Mrs. Knute Sorensen of Ruthven and brothers Pete, Fred and William of Nevada; Walter of Ames and Albert of El Paso, Texas.

Never married, he had worked on farms for most of his life, was a man of industry, thoroughly dependable and well respected by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at Memorial Lutheran church Friday afternoon at 4:30 with Dr. J. O. Simon in charge. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 4:15 at the home of his sister, Mrs. Chris Paulson on Tenth street.
