LULU BROWNFIELD

Lulu (Mrs. Joseph) Brownfield, 93, of Marshalltown, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, 1985, in a Marshalltown nursing home.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Colo United Methodist Church with Rev. James Tener officiating. Burial will be at Colo Cemetery.

Mrs. Brownfield was born Oct. 20, 1891, in Colo to Homer and Flora L'Hommedieu Dayton. She was married to Joseph F. Brownfield Nov. 26, 1912, in Nevada. He survives as do four children, Lois (Mrs. Galen) Stratton of rural Ames, Glen Brownfield of Colo, Lillian (Mrs. O. L.) Wokun [should be Wokoun] of Decatur, Ill., and Marian (Mrs. John) Ewaldt [should be Ewoldt] of Whitton, Ia.; seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two sisters, Amy Day of Nevada and Marion Beal of Arroyo Grande, Calif.

She was reared and educated in Colo where she lived until 1920. She moved to Thomasboro, Ill., where she lived until 1928, then returned to Colo where she lived until 1948 when she went to Marshalltown.

Mrs. Brownfield was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church.

Visitation began at noon Thursday at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown and was to continue until 8:30 a.m. Friday. There will also be visitation at the church until time for the funeral.
