BRIT J. BRITSON DEAD AT ROLAND

PASSING OF PIONEER OF THAT NEIGHBORHOOD REPORTED TODAY

Special to the Journal.
Roland, Feb. 18--Brit J. Britson, 76, a resident of this community since coming here as a babe of one year from Illinois with his parents in 1856, died at his home here today at 5 a. m. They settled on the old Britson homestead a mile east of Roland and there he grew to manhood. He was born in Illinois October 13, 1855.

He was united in marriage to a Mrs. Tearson of Cambridge and to them three sons and one daughter were born and survive the parents. The wife died about 10 years ago.

Since the death of the wife Mr. Britson had made his home with his sons Severt O. and Milford Britson in Roland. There is also a son Thomas Britson of Albert Lea, a daughter Mrs. Clyde Elliott of McCallsburg and a step-son, Ed M. Britson of Roland. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Hannah Sexe of Nevada.

The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at Bergen church, with Rev. Sumstadt in charge. There will be prayer service at the home preceding the funeral and interment will be in the Roland cemetery.

While Mr. Britson had been failing in health for several years, he had been confined to his bed but a short time.
