COUNTY PIONEER CALLED BY DEATH
ROBERT GAMBLE DIED AT HOME OF SISTER MRS. GORDON, LAST NIGHT
Robert N. Gamble, 71, a member of one of the pioneer families of Indian Creek township, died at midnight at the home of his sister, Mrs. J. H. Golden, with whom he had made his home since the death of his mother twenty-six years ago.
Robert Gamble one of the twelve children of J. D. and Elizabeth Gamble was a native of Indiana, where he was born March 30, 1861, but came to Story county with the family in 1862 and this has been his home since.
He had never married and had always made his home with the parents until their passing and then took up his home with the eldest living sister, Mrs. Golden.
He leaves two brothers and five sisters. The brothers are Will Gamble of Maxwell and Charles Gamble of Nevada, while the sisters are Mrs. J. H. Golden of Indian Creek township, Mrs. Frank Richardson of Maxwell, Mrs. C. E. Fish of Collins, Mrs. I. W. Douglass of Maxwell an Mrs. W. L. Tipton of Nevada.
Two sisters and three brothers are dead.
The body was taken to the Cooper funeral home at Maxwell and the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Maxwell.
