STEPHEN CARMODY DIED LAST NIGHT

LONG TIME RESIDENT OF NEAR ZEARING DIED AFTER AN EXTENDED ILLNESS

Special to the Journal.
Zearing, June 21--Stephen Carmody, 62, died at his home three miles south of Zearing, Tuesday evening at 11 o'clock, after an illness of about 12 yeas duration, five years of which he had been an invalid.

Funeral services for Mr. Carmody will be held at St. Gabriel's church, Zearing, Friday morning at 9:00 in charge of Rev. Fr. Frien. Interment will be in St. James cemetery at Colo.

Stephen, one of the eleven children of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Carmody and the was born at Forreston, Illinois, January 15, 1871.

He was united in marriage to Catherine Barr, February 21, 1900 and one daughter, Pauline, was born to them. She, with the wife and mother survive the deceased.

He leaves besides the wife and daughter, three brothers and two sisters. The brothers are Patrick of Denver, John of Omaha and M. E. of Perry, while the sisters are Mrs. G. M. Walter of Denver and Mrs. John Maroney of Nevada.

Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death, they being, Michael, Martin, Charles, Catherine and Margaret. One brother Michael died when a small child and another son, the youngest in the family was christened Michael upon his birth.
