FORMER STORY COUNTY MAN DEAD

S. M. McCALL, 84, PASSED AWAY AT HIS HOME IN DES MOINES

S. M. McCall, 84, former resident of Story county, died at his home in Des Moines Monday and funeral services will be held at the Dunn Funeral home in that city Thursday afternoon at 1:30.

Mr. McCall was born in Polk county January 22, 1849 and when a boy came to Nevada and attended the schools of this city. Later he was for at time a student at Iowa State college, Ames.

For many years he was engaged in farming north of Nevada and later lived and was engaged in business at both McCallsburg and Zearing.

His wife died about 16 years ago and he is survived by his four daughters, Mrs. George Bales of Winnebago, Minn., Mrs. A. H. Hoffman of Des Moines, Mrs. Clyde Kaiser of Youngstown, Ohio and Miss Jennie McCall, with whom he had made his home in Des Moines.

He is well remembered in Story county as a nephews of Thomas C. McCall, pioneer Nevada citizen and as a cousin of Judge E. M. McCall of Fort Dodge and the late F. C. McCall of Nevada.
