Slater, Jan. 24--Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Larson of Ames were held here at the Bethlehem church Tuesday afternoon. The services were conducted by her former pastor Rev. R. B. Wolfe of the First Lutheran church of Colorado Springs, Colo., assisted by Rev. E. Rorem. The floral offerings were unusually beautiful and numerous. Those who had charge of the flowers were Miss Naomi Johnson, Mrs. A. J. Rienertson and Mrs. A. L. Peterson. Miss Ruth Halverson sang "In the Garden" and a mixed quartette sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "God's Way is the Best Way." The pall bearers were A. M. Robins and A. D. Johnson of Ames, Clarence Clark, Andrew Maland, T. W. Rawson and A. L. Peterson of hers. Interment was made in the Slater cemetery.

Ella Walker was born near Sheldahl, Feb. 2, 1879 and died at her home in Ames, Jan. 20, 1933 at the age of 53 years, 11 months and 18 days. Her death was caused by encephalitis. Her parents were Torkel and Cecelia Walker. She was the eldest of the seven children. When six years old she moved to Slater with her parents. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended the Slater schools and graduated with her class.

Her marriage to John L. Larson took place Dec. 28, 1898. They made their home here for a number of years. For several years their residence was in Colorado Springs. After their return they made their home in Ames. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, brother and several sisters. She leaves to mourn her loss, six children, three sons, Cecil of Slater, Leslie and John of Ames, three daughters Dorothy, Miriam and Margaret of Ames, her father, and three sisters, Miss Theresa Walter of Los Angeles, Mrs. O. Freed of Huxley and Mrs. J. E. Johnson of Cedar Rapids, two grandchildren Robert and Jeanne of Slater, besides numerous relatives and friends.
