Ole R. Anderson Buried at Roland

Special to the Journal:
Roland, Dec. 5--Ole R. Anderson (Skaar) who passed away at the Story City Old Peoples' Home last Saturday from old age complications, was laid to rest beside his wife at the Roland cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, following funeral services held at the Old Peoples' home chapel. Rev. M. O. Sumstad of this place officiated at the services. A. C. Molstre, superintendent of the home, also spoke.

The pall bearers were Andrew H. Twedt, Abel H. Twedt, Sam H. Twedt, Henry Opstwedt, T. J. Jacobson and Anfin Hanson.

Mr. Anderson, who was almost 95 years old, was born at Skaanevig, Norway, January 6, 1841. In 1870 he was married to Siri Skaaren and two years later they came to America to make their home.

They settled on a farm two miles east of Roland where they lived for 26 years. When Mrs. Anderson's health began failing they gave up farming and moved to Roland, where they lived together for 11 years. Mrs. Anderson passed away April 1, 1911, and three years later he took up his abode in the Old Peoples' home, where he has since lived.

Mr. Anderson is remembered by many here for his devoted and painstaking care of his invalid wife during the many years she lay helpless in her bed, caring for her untiringly, without help from anyone.

He also endeared himself to many during his residence at the home by his cheerful disposition and his kindly attitude to his associates.
