Osmond Ritland Died in California

Huxley, Nov. 30--Relatives here have received word from La Mesa, Calif., telling to the death of Osmund Ritland, 66, on Monday.

He had been ill from stomach ulcers for some time, and underwent an operation a while ago, and was better for a time. Of late he had been worse and suffered hemorrhages the last week.

Funeral services and interment took place in California on Friday.

Mr. Ritland was born on the Ritland homestead one half mile south east of Huxley in January 1, 1869. There he grew to manhood. He was a Huxley merchant for a few years. He was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Tesdell. To this union three children were born, Herbert, who at present if taking a post graduate course at Stanford university; Osmund, who is a pilot on a U. S. transport plane between Vancouver and California and Marjory (Mrs. George Vanderveer) who also lives in California. The Tesdell family lived in Berthoud, Colo., for a number of years before moving to California.

Besides his wife and children he is survived by three brothers, Wier, Lars and Andrew of Huxley, two sisters, Mrs. Ole Legvold of Huxley and Mrs. Ole Erickson of Roland.

His parentes were the late Ole and Seri Ritland.
