FORMER STORY COUNTY MAN DIED

LESTER BURKHART DIED AT OKLAHOMA CITY ON SATURDAY

Lester W. Burkhart, 50, native of Zearing, died quite suddenly from heart trouble at his home in Oklahoma City, Okla., last Saturday, according to word received by relatives and friends. The funeral and interment was in Oklahoma City, where he has been in the real estate business for a number of years.

Mr. Burkhart, a son of the late Chas. A. Burkhart and Mrs. Sadie Burkhart, grew to manhood in the Zearing community. He graduated from the Zearing schools in 1902 after which he attended Iowa State college in Ames, where he became affiliated with the S. A. E. fraternity.

With his parents, he moved to South Dakota where his father, who was secretary of state of South Dakota and located at Pierre, passed away in 1922. He lived for a time in Dixon, S. D., moving from there to Alamo, Texas, and later to Oklahoma City, Okla.

He is survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. Sadie Burkhart of McAllen, Texas, two sisters, Mrs. Ilo Laycock of McAllen, Texas and Mrs. Blanche Albaugh of Glendale, Calif., and by a brother, Lyle Burkhart of Los Angeles, Calif. One brother, Earl Burkhart, died in January, eight years ago.
