Funeral Services Held Wednesday For M. T. Lee

Slater, Oct. 29--Funeral services for Mandius T. Lee were held Wednesday afternoon, 1:30 at the Bethlehem Lutheran church. The services were in charge of Rev. P. E. Onstad, assisted by Rev. E. R. Rorem of Story City. The many beautiful floral arrangements were arranged by Mrs. N. O. Ihle and Mrs. Raymond Ryen. A number of gifts of money to the missions were given by relatives and friends in his memory.

Rev. P. E. Onstad sang a solo, "It Pays to Serve Jesus," and Otis Ihle sang "I'm But a Stranger Here."

The pall bearers were Wilbur Thornvall, Clint Burkey, Albert Buche, John Buche, Carl Tesdell and Sanford Tesdall. Burial was made in the Bethlehem cemetery.

Mandius T. Lee was born in Shold [should be Skjold], Norway, April 26, 1888, and died at the Iowa Lutheran hospital October 20, 1945.

He came to America when 17 years old and lived in the Slater and Alleman communities. His marriage to Miss Sadie Michelson took place February 14th, 1912. They made their home in Webster county for three years after which they returned to Slater and located on a farm three miles west of Slater which they made their home.

He is survived by his wife, one son Home at home, and two daughters, Marjorie at home and Mrs. Lawrence Nelson of near Huxley. He is also survived by his aged father, Torgils Lee of Shold, Norway, and three brothers, T. T. Lee of Midvale, George and Severin Lee of Smithland, Iowa, and a large number of relatives and friends.
