THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, May 25, 1899, page 5. "The sad news reached Maxwell Wednesday of the death at 10 o'clock upon that day of Mrs. C. C. Zilm at her home in State Center. Mrs. Zilm was, up to a few years ago when she moved to State Center, one of the pioneer settlers of Polk county residing on a farm near Oldfield. She has many relatives in this vicinity and was a most highly loved and respected lady. A host of friends will be pained to hear of her death. The funeral will be held on Friday at 2 p. m. at State Center. The relatives have the sympathy of all their friends in Maxwell."
