Services on Tuesday For Mrs. Hemmingson

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Hemmingson were held on Tuesday, May 18, with a prayer service at her home in Huxley at 1:30 p.m. and Fjelberg Lutheran Church at 2 p.m.

The Rev. M. H. Rye was in charge.

Mrs. E. D. Hall sang two numbers, "Asleep in Jesus" and "Going Home."

Pallbearers were Calvin Ringgenberg, Clifford Birkestrand, Grant Olson, Lee Lafoon, Kenneth Okland and John Lee.

Burial was in Fjelberg cemetery.

Obituary

Bertha Hemmingson, daughter of Thor and Sarah Lande, born April 4, 1870 and died of a heart ailment at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines on May 14, 1954, at the age of 84 years.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Fjeldberg Church.

She was married to Henry Hemmingson on April 18, 1895.

They farmed one year in Polk County, Ia., then moved to Sioux County, Ia., where they farmed for seven years.

In 1902 they returned to the old Hemmingson farm where they lived for 18 years.

In 1920 they moved to Huxley where they spent their remaining years.

Her husband died four hears ago.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
