Williams Funeral Wednesday Afternoon
Funeral services for Mrs. George Williams, 50, who died here Monday, July 15, were held at the Methodist Episcopal church Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill in charge.
Burial was in the Nevada cemetery. Groups attending the service were members of the W. R. C. and the Daughters of Union Veterans, both of which she was a member.
Born Chloe Shaffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newton Shaffer, near Bennetin in Cedar county, January 1, 1885, she lived there until twelve years of age, when she came with her parents to Story county and here she grew to womanhood.
She was united in marriage to George William on November 5, 1902, and their home had been near Nevada in Story county continuously since.
While she had been in declining health for thirty years, the illness which resulted in her death dates back only to July 4.
She was the mother of two sons, Russell and Lester.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, the two sons Russell of Fairmont, Minn., and Lester of near Nevada; and two grandchildren. She also leaves a brother Arthur Shaffer of near Colo and sisters Mrs. Lounsberry of near Nevada and Mrs. Clara Whitinger of near Elma in Howard county.
Mrs. Williams confessed faith in Christ and became converted at her home in February of 1928 and joined the Methodist Episcopal church of Nevada on Mothers Day, 1929.
