THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, June 22, 2005.

Bruce Macy Adams, 71, of Ames, died Monday, June 20, suddenly at his home. Services will at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at United Church of Christ-Congregational with the Rev. Stephen McDuff officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Bruce Macy Adams was born Oct. 22, 1933, in Ames, son of Clinton Jay and Margaret (Macy) Adams. He married Nancy Getz Sept. 10, 1955, in Ames. He was a graduate of Ames High School in 1951 and of Northwestern in 1955. He was a family business manager, and he served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed his grandchildren, athletics, music, traveling, and spending summers at Ten Mile Lake in Walker, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Ames; two sons, Jay Austin Adams (Linda) of Huxley and Stanley Bruce Adams (Loretta) of Ames; two daughters, Marna Jean (Adams) Lenz (Gary) of Bloomington, Minn., and Sarah Nancy (Adams) Koschmeder (Kevin) of St. Croix Falls, Wis.; one sister, Marna Stevens of New Hope, Minn.; one brother, John F. (Jack) Adams of Ames; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Iowa State University athletic scholarships or United Church of Christ-Congregational in Ames.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
