NEWSPAPER SOURCE UNKNOWN, POSSIBLY THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, (hand written date 1966) Feb 1966. "FRED E. WEAVER. Fred E. Weaver, 56, of Poplar Grove, Illinois passed away at 10:30 a. m., on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the St. Joseph Hospital, where he had been a patient for ten days. He is survived by his widow, three sons, Donald of Poplar Grove, Illinois; Edwin of Tucson, Ariz., and Stewart of Beloit, Wisc.; four daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Wenzel of Vista, Calif., Mrs. Sue Ring of Rockford, Illinois, Mrs. Sharon Crosiar of Peoria, Illinois and Mrs. Shirley Hoey of Poplar Grove, Illinois and thirteen grandsons, also three sisters. Mrs. Mabel York of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Miss Alice Weaver of Des Moines, Iowa and Mrs. Ila Friedel of Jacksonville, Florida. Fred E. the son of Elmer and Prudence Pentz Weaver was born March 2, 1909 in Maxwell, Iowa, where he received his education. On Nov. 10, 1927, he was united in marriage to Hester Dyer. They made their home in Maxwell and Ames before moving to Poplar Grove in 1945, where he was a mechanic for Vinci Farm Sales. Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Vern, Earl and Glen and one sister, Mrs. Effie Link. Funeral services were held at the Poplar Grove Methodist Church on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 2 p. m., with the Rev. Clare B. Hewitt officiating. Interment was in the Poplar Grove Cemetery at Poplar Grove, Illinois."
