"MRS. HAUSKEN FUNERAL HELD

AGED RESIDENT HAD LIVED IN COMMUNITY OVER SIXTY YEARS

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Hans Hausken at the residence and at Salem Lutheran church, Rev. Olaf Holen officiating. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery.

The pall bearers were Oscar I. Sampson, A. J. Shold, Ed Sampson, Adolph Eggland, R. M. Peck and O.I. Eggland. Mrs. T. A. Sorem sang a solo at the residence and also at the church, Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Boyd sang a duet at the church service.

Mrs. Siri Hausken (nee Dalen) was born in Fjeldberg parish, Sondhordland, Norway, September 20, 1853, and died at her home in Roland, Monday, January 14, 1935, at 8 o'clock in the evening, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 24 days.

She came to America in 1872 and has been living in Story county since that time. She was married to Hans Hausken December 13, 1878, by Rev. Eistensen. They lived on a farm southeast of Roland for many years and when her husband died Mrs. Hausken moved to Roland, where she has since resided.

Nine children were born to this union, four of whom have preceded their mother in death. A boy died in infancy; Mrs. Martin Selvog died May 8, 1907; Mrs. Frank Webster died July 15, 1907, and Mrs. Millard Lawrence died June 25, 1908. The husband died August 18, 1924.

Mrs. Hausken is survived by four daughters and one son, Mrs. Will Melohn of Nevada, Mrs. Knut Stensland of Roland, Mrs. Fred Larson and Mrs. Pete Larson of Nevada, and Ole Hausken of near McCallsburg. She also leaves a sister in Norway."
