Funeral Services for Maxwell Woman
Special to the Journal.
Maxwell, Jan. 21--The funeral services for Mrs. Cordell Pratt were held Thursday afternoon from the Methodist church at 2 o'clock. Rev. Schueuermann had charge of the services. Music was furnished by a double quartette, composed of Mrs. T. T. Reed, Mrs. W. M. Scheuermann, Mrs. Kenneth Tomlinson, Mrs. Gurton Nelson, M. H. Troup, C. B. French, Harry Fackler and Gurton Nelson.Pallbearers were: Claude and James Ballard, Leonard Bryant, Kenneth Tomlinson, H. Balman, and Joe Young. Burial was in the Maxwell cemetery.
Anna Weimer Pratt, daughter of George and Mrs. Weimer was born in Chicago, Ill., and passed away at her home in Maxwell, January 14, at the age of 42 years.
She grew to womanhood in the parental home in Chicago. Later she came to Maxwell which place she was married to Cordell Pratt on December 29, 1927.
She is survived by her husband, her father of Chicago; four sisters, Pearl McQueen and Cecelia Armstrong of Chicago, Ill.,; Estelle Patchell of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Louis McLane of Villa Park, Ill.; two brothers, George Weimer of Bellwood, Ill., and Valentine of Chicago, four nieces and seven nephews, one of whom, Charles Shaver, resided in the Pratt home. Besides there are other relatives and many neighbors and friends to mourn her loss.
She was known to her husband as a devoted wife, and a helpful companion, to her neighbors as one who was willing to share with them in their burdens and sorrows.
