CHAS. SIGNS DIED; FUNERAL TUESDAY
COLLINS MAN PASSED AWAY AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS' ILLNESS
Collins, Dec. 17--Charles C. Signs, 73, a resident of Collins since 1919, died Saturday evening at 6:30 at his home here after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at the Church of Christ with Rev. Hohenshalt in charge. Burial will be in the Collins cemetery.
The deceased was a son of James and Sarah Signs, born on a farm in Clear Creek township, Jasper county, Jun 8, 1862.
He grew to manhood in that community and was married to Jennie B. Thompson, September 23, 1885. Five children were born to them and with the wife survive Mr. Signs. They are Fred and Ivan Signs of Des Moines, Mrs. Gladys Cox of Boulder, Colo., Wayne Signs of Collins and Mrs. Luella Webb of Nevada.
Besides the wife and five children he leaves 18 grand children and other relatives.
Mr. Signs who had been engaged in the hotel business since locating in Collins, has been a member of the Modern Woodman lodge since 1898.
