Westcott Funeral Services Saturday

Special to the Journal.
Collins, Dec. 4--Funeral services for the late Mrs. Jasper Westcott were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Church of Christ at Collins with the Rev. Geo. Cornford in charge. A quartet composed of Mrs. G. C Fish, Miss Zola Gilley, Chas. Cooper, and Tom Huntrod with Mrs. Hugh Fertig at the piano furnishing the music.

Burial was in the Collins cemetery and Chas. Waltz, Elsworth and Frank Campbell, R. G. Patton, James Oswalt and Frank Day acted as pallbearers.

Mrs. Westcott had been in poor health for several years and her passing had been expected for some time. She was born in Beatrice, Gauge county, Nebraska, April 29, 1869, a daughter of Josiah and Nancy Graves and on Jan. 1, 1886, was married to Jasper Westcott. After living at various places including Dunbar, Neb., and Jennings, Louisiana, they with their four children moved to Collins in 1904. This being their home for the past thirty years. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, and three children, Mrs. Bert O'Neil of Colo, Mrs. Chas. Kassel of Keystone and Josiah Westcott who lives at home. One daughter, Mrs. Bert Kassel died in 1918. She also leaves ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. A grandson Clarence Kassel has made his home with his grandparents for a number of years. A brother W. H. Graves of Texas and a sister Mrs. Martha Good at Superior, Nebraska also survive as well as other relatives and many friends.
