JAS. F. O'DONNELL DIED AT MASON CITY

FORMER NEVADA MAN VICTIM OF PNEUMONIA--BURIAL WEDNESDAY

James F. O'Donnell, 40, former Nevada man, died at St. Joseph's Mercy hospital Mason City, Monday afternoon at 2:15, after an illness of six weeks during which time he had been a sufferer from pneumonia and other complications.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9:00 at Holy Family church in Mason City with his pastor Rev. Fr. Murphy in charge, after which the body will brought to Nevada for burial in the family lot in St. Patrick's cemetery.

Born in Nevada, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry O'Donnell, he attended the local schools and worked as a boy. He was nearing his 25th year when he enlisted in the U. S. Army July 15, 1918 and was assigned to the 84th Aero Squadron and from Camp Dodge was sent to Kelley Field.

Upon his discharge from service on May 22, 1919 he returned to Nevada and for a time was connected with various motor car concerns at Nevada and Ames and later went to Mason City, where he had been located for a number of years.

About 10 years ago he was married to Miss Ethel Biddle and to them one daughter, Marguerite, was born and with the mother survives the husband and father. Marguerite is 8 years of age.

He leaves besides his wife and daughter, his mother Mrs. Anna O'Donnell of Nevada, brothers Edward of Cleveland, Ohio and Raymond of Nevada and a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Wells of Nevada.

Besides these he leaves a wide circle of friends not only in Nevada where he had spent his boyhood days and younger manhood, but in Mason City where he had lived during the later years of his life.

He was a young man of industry and integrity, of a happy and affable disposition and was one who made friends where ever he went. He will be deeply mourned by his family and most kindly remembered by many friends.

Military honors will be accorded the deceased who had been a member of Nevada Post No. 48 American Legion. A firing squad and color bearers will be furnished by the local post and there will be a salute and the sounding of "taps" at the cemetery.
