ED ERICKSON DIED AT ROLAND TODAY

WELL KNOWN RESIDENT PASSED AWAY THERE EARLY TODAY

Special to the Journal.
Roland, Nov. 24--Edward Erickson, 57, died at his home here early today after a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon. There will be a prayer service at the home at 1:30 followed by the funeral at Bergen church at 2:00 with his pastor Rev. Sumstadt in charge. Interment will be in the Roland cemetery.

He was born on a farm south of Roland, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Amond Erickson. Twenty-nine years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Christian, who with his aged mother, three sons and three daughters survive him.

For about 8 years he served as a rural mail carrier out of Roland, but gave that up and moved onto the old Erickson homestead south of Roland, where the family lived until 1928 when they moved back into town.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Erickson, daughters, Mrs. Mildred Olson and Genevieve Erickson of Nevada and Opal Erickson of Roland; sons Earl, Herbert and Luther, all at home; brothers Maynard, Oscar and Elmer, sisters Mrs. T. A. Hereim, Mrs. Clarence Thorson and Mrs. A. M. Michaelson and the aged mother.
