Many Attend Last Rites For Mrs. Nancy Patton

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Patton, who passed away May 18 at Pender, Nebr., were held Saturday afternoon, May 21, at the Collins Church of Christ. Brief services had been held previously at the Demme Mortuary at Pender.

The rites were in charge of the Rev. Henry Esch, pastor of the Church of Christ. The music was furnished by Mrs. K. W. Tomlinson and Mrs. D. I. Mullihan, soloists, and Mrs. Hugh Fertig, pianist.

Casket bearers were Charles Vasey, Walter Brown, Ray Tiffany, Lon Franklin, Curt Campbell and Harvey Westcott. Interment was in Collins Evergreen Cemetery.

Obituary

Nancy Jane Guy, daughter of Eben and Mary Guy, was born Oct. 25, 1859, at Collin, Iowa, and passed away on May 18, 1949, at the Logan Valley hospital, Pender, Neb.

On May 2, 1880, she was united in marriage of John Calvin Patton, on the Guy homestead near Collins. In 1890 they moved to Lemar, Colorao, and after a nine-year stay there moved to Pender, Neb., residing there until 1909, when they returned to their old home in Collins.

Mr. Patton preceded his wife in death on Sept. 3, 1934, at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Ia. One daughter preceded her parents in death in the year 1890 at Lemar, Colorado.

Survivors

She leaves to mourn her death six children Rollie G. Patton, Collins, Clarence of Ira, Ia.; Morse of Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Harry Willey of Fort Collins, Colo.; Guy M. Patton, also of Fort Collins, and Mrs. Ada E. Ruehl of Pender, Neb.

Her passing also is mourned by a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

Mrs. Patton united with the Wesleyan Methodist church at the age of 18 and later transferred to the Church of Christ.

For the last nine years Mrs. Patton had made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Ruehl, in Pender, Neb.

Relatives attending the services from a distance were from Pender, Nebr., Fort Collins, Colo., Omaha, Nebr., Des Moines and Ira.
