"OBITUARY OF NELS WYDELL

Nels Wydell was born December 5, 1848, at Ydal, Norway, and died at his home at Roland August 4, 1934, at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 29 days. The cause of his death, which came at seven o'clock in the evening was hearth failure with which he had been afflicted for some time.

He was married to Ellen Marie Axelton in June 1873. He emigrated to America in August 1884, with his wife and five children, coming direct to Roland where he has since made his home with the exception of a short time that he lived at Zearing.

Mr. Wydell was the last one of the brothers and sisters in his family to pass away. His wife died January 24, 1897. They had 11 children, four of whom died as infants and four died after reaching maturity. The three children who survive him are Mrs. Marie Anderson of Chicago, Louise Wydell of Alhambra, Cal., and Mrs. Angeline Selts of Roland, who has cared for her father for many years. He also leaves two great grandchildren, Nellie and Palmer Harrison, who also live with the Selts family.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the home and at Bergen church, Rev. M. O. Sumstad officating, with interment in the Roland cemetery. The pall bearers were Jacob Erickson, P. M. Martens, Oscar Cole, H. T. Hegland, John Nerim and E. H. Mathison.

Among those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were Andrew Axelton, Andy Axelton, Bertha Axelton, Mrs. Levi Olson and Mrs. Chris Jenson of Graettinger, Mrs. M. T. Axelton and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Axelton of Ames, Tom Harrison, Pearl Harrison, Mrs. T. Tollitson, Marie and Anna Leland of Cambridge."
