Hold Final Services For Mrs. Annie Roe

Annie Britson was born April 28, 1858, in Norway and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Brown in Slater, on June 5, 1949, at the age of 91 years, one month and seven days. When still an infant she came to America with her parents and the family settle in Iowa. She grew to womanhood in the Story City community. She was united in marriage to Knute Roe at Story City.

The couple moved to Hamilton county and purchase a farm near Williams. To this union eight children were born, four boys and four girl. Mrs. Roe was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Ole and Carl. On September 2, 1940, Mrs. Roe moved to Slater to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Brown. Mrs. Roe was an earnest Christian and attended church as long as her health permitted. She was a hard working and sincere woman and lived a long honorable life.

She is survived by her children, Mrs. Jennie Brown of Slater, Mrs. J. Olson of Ellsworth, Mrs. J. A. Johnson of Blue Earth, Minn., and Mrs. Martha Olson of Ellsworth, Jim Roe of Williams and Clarence Roe of Jewell, also grand children and great grandchildren.

The funeral is being held at the Rose Grove church near Williams on Wednesday afternoon and she will be buried by the side of her husband.
