THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, 13 May 1926, page 1. "GEO. TOMLINSON DIED AT FARRAR - Monday afternoon the neighborhood was startled by the news that Geo. Tomlinson had been found dead in the field. Mr. Tomlinson was driving a team to a disc on the Jake Link farm, where he was employed by Mr. Link, when he apparently was taken by a heart attack, from which he been a sufferer for some time, and fell backward from his seat. Jim Bennett, who was in the field, saw the team wandering around without a driver and went to investigate and found him dead. The body was taken to the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Gifford, nearby, where it was viewed by the Polk county coroner, then removed to the Cooper undertaking parlors at Maxwell. Mr. Tomlinson was a resident of Farrar, living alone. Funeral services were held from the Peoria church Wednesday afternoon, the Modern Woodmen lodge, of Collins, of which deceased was a member, officiating. Interment was in the Farrar cemetery. Sermon was preached by Rev. C. R. Green."

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, May 20, 1926, page 1. "GEORGE ALBERT TOMLINSON - George Albert Tomlinson, son of Elijah and Mary (McClannahan) Tomlinson, was born in Marion county, Indiana, June 15, 1858, in which state his father died. The deceased, with his mother and a sister, Elizabeth, moved to Jasper county, Iowa in the year 1868. His father was a native of Kentucky and his mother of Virginia. Mrs. Tomlinson died November 16, 1896. He left the farm sixteen years ago and since has resided at Farrar. His sister, Mrs. Wm. Gardner, passed away a little over a year ago, leaving three nephews, E. S. Gardner, of Maxwell; Stephen Gardner, of North Dakota, and John Gardner, of Colorado; also two nieces, Mrs. Chas. Maxwell, of Minnesota, and Mrs. Swalwell, of Collins, and their father, Wm. Gardner, of Maxwell. He was a good citizen and neighbor and lived an honest and industrious life and will be missed by those who knew him.. His death occurred at Farrar, Monday, May 10, 1926, at the age of sixty-seven years, ten months and twenty-five days. The funeral was held at the Peoria church Wednesday afternoon of last week, with sermon by Rev. C. R. Green. Member of the Modern Woodman Camp, of Collins, assisted in the service, the pall bearers being Joe Stratton, Frank Campbell, I. E. Stratton, W. L. Skinner, Geo. Vasey and G. H. Keagle. Burial was at the Peoria cemetery.
