Mrs. Leo Armstrong Dies Sunday at Orange, California

Mrs. Leo Armstrong, 61, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Sadie Mathews, at Orange, Cal., late Sunday and the funeral and interment will be there Wednesday afternoon, according to a message received here by Mr. Armstrong's brother, Postmaster E. S. Armstrong, of Nevada.

Mrs. Armstrong has been in ill health since February of this year and has been in California since the middle of the summer. Mrs. Armstrong expressed a wish to spend her remaining days with her mother in California, and to be buried beside her father, Oscar D. Mathews. Mr. Armstrong was called to Orange two weeks ago.

She was a member of the WHB club of Ames, and was an active member of the Methodist church of Ames.

Funeral services will be held in Coffey's Funeral home in Orange, Cal., Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Orange.

Mrs. Armstrong is survived by her husband, Leo Armstrong of Ames, a son, Duane Armstrong of Orange, Cal., her mother, Mrs. Sadie Mathews and a sister, Mrs. Walter Lovell both of Orange, and three grandsons, Duane Jr., Robert and Leo all of Ames.

Mrs. Armstrong was born Maude Mathews, daughter of Oscar D. and Sadie Mathews, member of a pioneer southwest Grant township family.

Mr. Armstrong, member of a similar family in the northwest part of the township, and Maude Mathews were married thirty-three years ago and lived in that part of the county for a number of years, but of late had divided their time between Ames and Orange, California.
