Frank W. Brokaw Last Rites Held On Thursday
Last rites for Frank W. Brokaw were held from the Ryan Funeral Home, Thursday, Jan. 6 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. David Ash of the Nevada Methodist church officiating.
The casket bearers were C. A. Stanforth, Morris Van Sickle, Joe Van Sickle, Jr., W. E. Horine, Howard Mills and Ed Bauer.
The Masonic service at the graveside was in charg of Dr. Raymond Shipman of Ames.
Obituary
Frank W. Brokaw was born July 9, 1871 in Henry, Illinois the son of Jasper and Louise Brokaw and has been a resident of Iowa for the past 46 years. He was married to Florence May Fountain on May 1, 1900 and she preceded him in death Sept. 5, 1944.
Frank Brokaw died January 3, 1955 at the Story County hospital after an illness over the past 18 months, at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 26 days.
He was a member of the Masonic Order with membership in the Arcada Lodge 249 of Ames.
He is survived by a nephew Paul Brokaw of Abington, Illinois and two nieces, Mildred Elliott of Elgin, Illinois and Bloudell Lasbrook of Cambridge, Illinois. His cousin, Ace Shurtz had made his home with him for the last 30 years.
