Bergerson Rites In Story City Sunday

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon Nov. 14 at two o'clock in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City for Mrs. Carrie Bergerson* who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Nelson in Cheteck, Wisconsin on Thursday, November 11. A prayer service was held in the Larson Funeral Home at 1:30 preceding the service.

Rev. Ocee Johnson officiated. Mrs. Alfred Jacobson, organist, accompanied Mrs. Robert Kenny who sang "I Know of a Sleep in Jesus' Name," and "The Lord's Prayer."

Pall bearers were Fred Peterson, William S. Starkey, , Burnice W. Jacobson, Severine Flattebo, Arnold G. Johnson and Myron Gere. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery at Ellsworth

Obituary

Carrie Serine Mickelson*, daughter of Knute and Bernelia Mickelson was born on May 29, 1859 at Decorah, Iowa.

Her parents moved to a farm near Huxley when she was a small child, where she grew to womanhood. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church.

On April 27, 1882 she was untied in marriage to Benjamin Bergerson* of Ellsworth. They lived around Ellsworth for a number of years, then moved to Williams where her husband died on May 10, 1904. She moved to Story City in the spring of 1919 and lived here many years. She became a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and the Woman's Missionary Society of which he was made an honorary member. She was very active until the last few years. The past ten years she had lived most of the time with her children. She was living with her daughter, Mrs. Anna Nelson of Chetek, Wisconsin at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons and one daughter. She leaves to mourn her passing, four sons and three daughters, namely Otto Bergerson of Buckeye, Archie Bergerson of Long Beach, California, Ben Bergerson of Ames, James Bergerson of Story City, Mrs. Anna Nelson, of Chetek, Wisconsin, Mrs. Clara Quelland and Mrs. Evelyn Hanson both of Denver, Colorado. She is survived also by twenty-one grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren and a half-sister, Mrs. Hans Larson of Huxley.

She was 95 years, 5 months and 13 days old at the time of her death.
