Fred Geisler Laid To Rest

MINGO -- Funeral services for Fred Geisler were held Wednesday at 2 o'clock in the Mingo Methodist church with the Rev. Oren Hall of Maxwell officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. John Cleverley as soloist and Mrs. Dale Harter, organist. Pall bearers were W. R. Baldwin, Neil Steiniche, Fred Borts, Ralph Crozier, Loren Murphy and V. B. Womeldorff.

Interment was in the Graham cemetery.

Fred Geisler, 66, prominent stockman and retired farmer of the Mingo vicinity, died early Monday morning at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines. He had been a patient in the hospital for three weeks and death was from malignancy.

Obituary

Mr. Geisler was born Dec. 8, 1886 on a farm west of Mingo, the son of John and Katherine Geisler. He grew to manhood there and after his marriage to Edna Eatwell, February 5, 1908, he moved to a farm north of Mingo.

Ill health forced his retirement in 1946, and at that time he and his wife moved to Mingo where they have since resided.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Eldon of Mingo; two daughters, Mrs. John (Eileen) Allen of Mingo and Mrs. Don (Coleen) Shaeffer of Maxwell; three brothers, Loris of Ankeny, Walter of Maxwell and John of Collins; three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Emma) Hay of Farrar, Mrs. Oscar (Rose) Jones of Brandon and Mrs. Frank (Viola) Lozier of Hollywood, California.
