Funeral Services For J. Zimmerman

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 31, at 2 p.m. in the Kelley Congregational church for Julius J. Zimmerman with Dr. Leonard Murray officiating. Two musical numbers "God's Way" and "Rock of Ages" were sung by Lowell and Glen Accola accompanied by Mrs. Leonard Hines.

Mrs. Max Elverts and Mrs. Charley Freed were in charge of the floral offerings.

Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Obituary

Julius J. Zimmerman was born at Ackley, July 3, 1879, son of the late Carl and Charlotte Zimmerman. He grew to manhood in Ackley.

He graduated from Highland Park Pharmaceutical College in 1908. His first position was in Gowrie, Iowa, then came to Kelley where he remained until his retirement in 1949. He was also postmaster for about thirty-five years. He was a member of the Druggists Association and one of the charter members of the I. O. O. F. lodge at Kelley.

He was married to Edith Hutchison in 1910 in Hampton, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Charley Finch (Marian) of Kelley and a son, Marvin, who preceded him in death in 1941. Those who mourn his passing beside his wife and daughter are two grandchildren Joan and Alvin Finch, his brother and sisters, A. A. Zimmerman of Waterloo, Mrs. R. J. McEwen of Mason City, Mrs. Wm. Hutchison of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Esther Barber of Van Couver, Washington, and number of nieces and nephews. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
