Last Rites for Albert Rahfeldt Held at Zearing
Services for Albert Rahfeldt who died Monday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. were held Thursday, Aug. 18 in the E.U.B. church in Zearing. Burial was in the Zearing cemetery.
Casket bearers were Jessie Erickson, Bill Rahfeldt Jr., Dale Rahfeldt, Gerald Gull, Henry Pille, and Albert Rahfeldt Jr.
Mrs. Alvin Johnson sang as Mrs. Walter Lund played the organ.
Mrs. Roy Rhodes and Ambrose Johnston cared for the flowers.
Obituary
Albert Rahfeldt, son of Charlott and John Rahfeldt died at the Pleasant View Nursing Home at State Center, Iowa on Monday, Aug. 15, 1960 at 6:05 p.m. at the age of 96 years and 8 mo. He had been in the nursing home at Nevada and State Center the last five years.
He was born in Canada Dec. 14, 1863, and moved with his parents at the age of 4 to their farm home southeast of Zearing.
On June 7, 1887, he was united in marriage to Sarah Spurling and they moved to a farm they purchased southwest of Zearing, where he lived most of his life.
To this union were born 8 children: Fred of Popejoy, William, Robert, Charles, Eddie, Mrs. Henry Erickson and Mrs. Walter Gull all of Zearing and Nellie of the Pleasant View Nursing Home at State Center.
His wife, Sarah, and son Charles, and his parents and brothers preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his death, besides his children, 18 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
