Last Rites Held For M. Breckenridge Jr. Friday Afternoon

CAMBRIDGE -- Funeral services for Marion McClure Breckenridge, age 30, who passed away last Tuesday night after a lingering illness, were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the home and two o'clock form the Cambridge Lutheran church with his pastor, Rev. Harry Stoutland in charge assisted by Rev. Peter Buland of Cambridge.

The church was filled to capacity with relatives, friends and neighbors, who came to pay their last respects to the deceased.

A quartet consisting of John Dyer, Kermit Griffith, Leland Gardner and Gilbert Griffith sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Have Thine Own Way Lord," also Mrs. Alex Egeland and Mrs. Eide Ryerson sang a duet, "Sometime We Will Understand" accompanied by Ruth Ann Lewis at the organ.

Mrs. Ted Ryerson and Mrs. Bob Wassell had charge of the flowers.

Casketbearers were Theodore Ryerson, John L. Scott, Eide Ryerson, Richard Ballard, Marion Heintz and Leonard Lee.

Interment was in the Cambridge cemetery.

Marion M. Breckenridge, Jr.

Marion McClure Breckenridge Jr., son of Marion and Verna Breckenridge, was born March 11, 1922 at Marathon, Iowa. When one year old he, with his parents, moved to Clarion, Iowa, where they lived until he was 13 years of age, then moved to a farm near Cambridge where he grew to manhood and resided at the time of his death.

He was educated in the Shipley school and graduated in 1939.

On December 12, 1943, he was united in marriage to Miss Vivian Louise McCabe at the Grace Methodist church in Des Moines. To this union was born three children, Linda Kay, Randall Wayne and Pamela Sue.

About 16 months ago he became ill and suffered patiently until his passing on August 26, 1952.

He was a member of the Cambridge Lutheran church.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Breckenridge; two daughter Linda Kay, 7, and Pamela Sue 14 months and one son, Randall Wayne, 6; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Breckenridge Sr., of Ames; one sister, June Breckenridge of Washington, D. C.

Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
