LUKE O'DONNELL

Funeral services for the late Luke O'Donnell, 67, farmer of northeast of Colo, who died late Friday as a result of an automobile crash on No. 65 north of here, were held this morning at 9:30 at St. Gabriel church in Zearing and the body was laid to rest in St. James Cemetery here (Colo).
The services were in charge of Rev. Fr. O'Connor, pastor of St. Gabriel Church.

Luke O'Donnell was born at Colo June 7, 1870, a son of Patrick and Bridget O'Donnell, a pioneer family here. He grew to manhood in the community and was married February 28, 1905 to Anna Dorothea Nelson. They established their home on a farm north of Colo and there he had lived since and there the wife and mother of his six children died January 22, 1919.

The six children, five of whom survive the parents, were: Alice at Hayfield; the son, Francis, of near Zearing; Irene, now Mrs. Gaylon Huhn of northeast of Nevada; Pauline of Marshalltown, Anna, now Mrs. Clifford Buffington at home, and Barney who died in infancy. Surviving besides the one son and four daughters are two grandchildren, a brother, Connor O'Donnell, living nearby, and a cousin, Kate Beirne. One sister had passed away as a child of five years.
