Funeral Service Held For Charlie Patterson

MAXWELL -- Funeral service for Charlie Patterson was held Friday afternoon May 16 at 2 o'clock in the Peoria church with Rev. Finch and Rev. Ira Carney in charge.

Mrs. Ray Gooden sang "No Tears in Paradise" accompanied by Mrs. H. C. Larsen at the piano.

The many beautiful floral tributes were arranged and cared for by Mrs. Albert Link and Mrs. Loren Davis.

The pall bearers were Harold Backous, L. E. McQuiston, Clyde Oxley, Albert Link, Ralph Thompson and Wayne Sargent.

Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery at Collins.

Obituary

Charlie Patterson, son of Frank and Ruth Patterson was born in Jasper county, June 19, 1898 and departed his life at his home south east of Maxwell on May 13, 1952, at the age of 53 years, 10 month and 24 days.

At the age of a year and a half he moved with his parents to the L. R. Shepherd farm southeast of Maxwell where he lived until he was twenty. He lived on several different farms in the Maxwell and Collins community, moving back to the Shepherd farm in 1938 and resided there until his death.

He was united in marriage to Anna Ferguson, June 26, 1918. To this union two children were born, Coleen, Mrs. Dudley Swalwell of Maxwell and De Lane who preceded him in death in 1946. His wife died in 1945.

On December 21, 1947, he was united in marriage to Maxine Viers at Grant City, Missouri. Left to survive are his wife, a daughter, four grandchildren, two stepsons, three sisters, Mrs. Harry Burges of Nevada, Mrs. Fred Burgess and Mrs. Fred Alverson of Maxwell and two brothers, Joe of Maxwell and Roy of Wakonda, South Dakota.

Out of state relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Patterson of Wakonda, South Dakota, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Nagle of Lake Orion, Michigan.
