THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 14, 1901, page 1, column 4. "Iowa Center - Mr. Jake Taylor, an old resident living north-east of town, was buried here last Saturday afternoon."

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 21, 1901, page 8, column 3. "MULLEN (delayed correspondence) - Old Mr. Jacob Taylor, one of the oldest settlers of this country, died at his home here, last Wednesday evening. The funeral services were held at the U. E. church in Iowa Center, at 1 p. m. Saturday conducted by Rev. Chas. Pickford, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Iowa Center Cemetery."
