Mrs. Hans Olson, aged 74, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Ole Enger, Aux Sable, Ill. at 7:30 o'clock Wednesday evening, March 11th. Death came from the effects of a stroke of paralysis that came nearly taking her life in January. Since that time she had partially recovered the use of her body but her advanced age was against a complete recovery. Last weeks she showed symptoms of a relapse and gradually sank into her last sleep.

Mrs. Olson was born in Skaanevik, Norway Feb 5, 1840. She came to America when quite young and in 1861 she was married to Hans Olson, the ceremony being performed in Big Grove, Ill. They resided on a farm in Kendall County, Ill. until 1892 when they moved here and located on a farm four miles south of Roland. in 1902 they moved to town, where Mr. Olson died three years ago. Two years after her husband's death, Mrs. Olson left Roland to go to Ill. where she went to make her home with her daughters.

Thirteen children were born to Mrs. Olson, nine of whom are still living. They are Charles, Bert and Mrs. J. C. Twedt of this place; Mrs. Charles Johnson of Helmar, Ill., Mrs. Knut Enger, Mrs. Ole Enger, Joe and Tom Olson of Aux Sable, Ill. and Mrs. S. N. Peterson of Morris, Ill. There are also fifty-two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Olson was a loyal member of the Bergen Church and has always been a faithful Christian. She was devoted to her home and family.

The funeral services were conducted from Bergen Church last Sunday afternoon, the body having arrived here on Saturday. Rev. Smedal who had charge of the funeral services, paid a memorable tribute to the departed ones memory and in compliance with her last request, the Pastor while in the pulpit, read the hymns she used to sing and which she loved so well. She was buried by the side of her husband in the Roland Cemetery.
