DEATHS

MRS. ANNA ASKELSON

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Askelson, age 84 years, of Story City, who passed away at the Story City Memorial Hospital Monday morning, Oct 29, were held in St. Petri Lutheran Church, Thursday afternoon, Nov. 1, at 2:30. Pastor Rhuben O. Aga officiated.

Mrs. Joel Jacobson was organist, and Mrs. Loren Twedt sang, "How Great Thou Art" and "Under His Wings."

Interment was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. Pall bearers were Richard Jacobson, Jonas Jacobson, Lawrence Jacobson, Leslie K. Jacobson, Bill Dodds and Philip Peterson.

Anna Askelson, the daughter of Jacob H. and Sarah Jacobson was born March 30, 1889, near Gilbert. She was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City.

June 29, 1910 she was united in marriage to Albert Askelson. They farmed near Story City, until retiring in 1950, when they moved to Story City. Her husband preceded her in death May 29, 1954.

Survivors are one son and one daughter, Earl Askelson and Mrs. Irving (Sarah) Wierson, both of Story City; also eight grandchildren; and one brother, Theodore A. Jacobson of Story City. Mrs. Robert (Judith) Askelson, a daughter-in-law, and grandchildren were unable to attend the funeral services here.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Askelson was preceded in death by her parents; a son Robert Askelson; one grandson, and one granddaughter; four brothers and one sister.
