EMMA DARNER

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 18, at 2 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad, Neb., for Mrs. Emma Darner, who passed away at Denison July 16 at the age of 86 years. Interment was in the Cozad Cemetery.

Mrs. Emma Pearl Darner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Stark, was born at Columbus, Neb., Feb. 4, 1887.

On June 17, 1905 she married John R. Darner. To this union were born two sons, Frank R. of Shell Knob, Mo., and William A. of Logan. Her husband met an untimely death in 1934.

Most of her life was spent in the areas of Cozad, Nebraska, Logan and Nevada, Iowa. She was associated with her son William in the Darner Store in Logan and managed their Dunlap store for a short time. She also managed the Maplehurst Hotel at Schuyler, Neb.

In 1957 she moved to Nevada, returning to Logan in 1972.

Preceding her in death were both parents, a brother Earl Stark, and two sisters, Katherine Wendt and Eva Schiable.

Grandchildren are John R. Darner, Minden, Neb.; Gerald Darner of Prairie Village, Kans.; Patricia Schwartz of Monticello, Ill.; and Thomas A. Darner of Alexandria, Va. There are seven great grandchildren.
