Area Deaths

HOWARD S. ANDERSON

Howard Anderson, 73, of Story City died Friday, July 6th at the Story City Memorial Hospital.

Born January 8th, 1900 to parents John O. and Betsy Anderson, he had lived most of his life in the Story City area. He was married to Myrna Classon of Radcliffe, Iowa on January 26th, 1923 and had worked his entire lifetime as a farmer He had been suffering from an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife, Myrna, two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Ethel) Matsen of Newton, Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Sopeland of Spencer; one son, Robert G. Anderson of Story City; five sisters, Mrs. Richard Heggen of Des Moines, Mrs. Reuben Solyst from Roland, Mrs. Virgil Smith of Des Moines, Mrs. H.F. (Betts) Peterson of Peoria, Illinois, Mrs. Robert Grummer of Madison, Wisconsin, a twin brother Orville Anderson of Story City, and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. W. M. Langheim of New York, New York.

Funeral services were held July 9th at 2 p.m. from the St. Petri Lutheran Church with the Rev. M. C. Hagedorn in charge. Burial was at the Story City Cemetery.
