Eddie Hanson Dies In Vet's Hospital
Eddie J. Hanson, age 72, of Story City died at the Veteran's Hospital in Des Moines December 21 at 11 a.m. He had been a patient there 41 days.
Hanson has been employed as a laborer at the Veteran's Hospital in Chicago and Des Moines.
Born September 25, 1894 on a farm NW of Gilbert, the son of Hans L. and Mary Hanson he was a veteran of World War I.
Hanson is survived by his mother, Mary Hanson of Story City, four sisters, Mrs. Noble Partlow of Story City, Mrs. Lester Johnson and Mrs. Helen Warren of Ames and Mrs. Ira Dutrow of Sioux City, one brother, Eugene Hanson of Ames. He was preceded in death by his father in 1941.
Funeral arrangements have been made for Friday at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City with the Rev. Rhuben O. Aga officiating. Burial will be in the South St. Petri cemetery two miles north of Gilbert.
The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City.
