DEATHS

Services were held for Orpha Ruxton at 2 p.m. Monday in the Christian Church, Zearing with Rev. Phillip Sharp officiating. Burial was in the Zearing Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cliff Gildersleeeve, Dennis Anderson, Blayney Johnston, Glen Frohwein, Cliff Carver and K. L. Cerka. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Blayney Johnston, Mrs. Glen Frohwein, Mrs. Cliff Carver and Mre. Mary Gardner. Mrs. Gordon Lundy was at the organ while Don Fleming sang.

OBITUARY

Orpha Avis Higgason was born June 29, 1884, the daughter of Wallace and Josephine Higgason in Mahaska County, Iowa. She died Nov. 11, 1966 at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 11 days. She spent her childhood in Southern Iowa until about 16 years of age when her family moved to the Zearing area where she resided the remainder of her life.

On July 6, 1904 she was united in marriage to James A. Ruxton, to this union a daughter, Eva was born. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, and two brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Eva Reese of Zearing, a sister, Hazel Seubert of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are 26 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
