Heart Attack Fatal For Allis Wicks At the Age of 49

Allis S. Wicks, 49, who had farmed near McCallsburg until the past several years, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday at his farm home near Roland.

Death was due to a long-standing heart ailment. He suffered the fatal seizure while the family was eating its evening meal. He had visited a physician for treatment during the afternoon.

Wicks was born January 23, 1917 on a farm northwest of McCallsburg, the son of Tom and Cecelia Wicks. He farmed in that area and was a salesman for Moorman Feeds until a year ago. He had worked at the SCD office in Nevada for the past four years.

He leaves his wife Dorothy, five sons, Timothy, Charles, Alan, Clark and Douglas; and his mother, now a resident of Ames.

Wicks was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of McCallsburg and a former member of the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the McCallsburg Bethany Lutheran Church with Rev. P. R. Heller, pastor of that church in charge. Burial will be in the Roland Cemetery. The body will be at the Soderstrum Funeral Home in Roland.
